Early Childhood Screening

The early childhood years from birth to the start of kindergarten are an important time of rapid learning and growth. 
 Early Childhood Screening is a simple screening of your child's:

• social/emotional
• language
• motor                         
• cognition skills
• height, weight, vision, and hearing

The screening appointment takes about an hour to complete.
Early Childhood Screening is:

• Recommended that children are screened at the age 3.5 years
• Required prior to starting preschool in Pierz
• Screening is free of charge

Early Childhood Screening is offered by the school district, free of charge. If your child has been screened in another district, please request that the file is sent to Sarah Funk at sfunk@pierzschools.org or mailed to 112 Kamnic St, Pierz, MN 56364.

Please contact Sarah Funk with questions or for more information and to schedule a screening by phone at 320-468-6458 ext 7. Registration for an appointment can be done online in the school store. Choose a date and time that works for your child when they will be about three years and five-seven months old.
