College Visits/Job Shadows

**All 11th & 12th grade students are allowed 2 excused absences per semester for College Tours (or approved Job Shadow Experiences).** -

Graduation Participation
It is the policy of Pierz Healy High School that a student must be on schedule to graduate as of the second Wednesday in May of the graduating year in order to participate in graduation ceremonies. This means all required and elective credits must be completed and/or scheduled to be completed by this date.
Students not passing their courses 2nd semester must be within 2 credits of graduating to participate in the graduation ceremony.
Any senior involved with vandalism, destruction of property, or egregious behavior may not be allowed to participate in any school-sponsored activities, student trips, awards night, graduation, or grad bash. Pierz Healy High School Graduation Requirements
Students must earn 53 credits to graduate with a Pierz Healy High School Diploma.
The number of credits must include the following:
- 6 semesters of Math (Geometry, Algebra II and 2 semesters of Math Electives) – 6 credits
- 6 semesters of Science (Chemistry/Physical Science 9, Biology, and 2 semesters of Science Electives) – 6 credits
- 8 semesters of English (English 9, English 10, and 4 semesters of English elective courses) – 8 credits
- 7 semesters of Social Studies (American History, Civics/Gov’t, World History, Economics) – 7 credits
- 1 semester of Health Education (Classes of 2022-2023 = Health 9 & 10, Classes of 2024-beyond = Health 10) – 1 credit
- 2 semesters of Physical Education (Classes of 2022-2023 = PE 9 & 10, Classes of 2024-beyond = PE 9) – 2 credits
- 2 semesters of Fine Arts (Music, Visual Arts, Performing Arts) – 2 credits
Classes of 2022-2024
- 1 semester of Industrial Technology 9 (IT-9) – 1 credit, required for all 9th graders
- 20 Elective credits
Classes of 2025 - beyond
- 21 Elective credits
